RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Operations & Accounting
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense management
- Oversee bill paying, invoice collection and sending, and invoice review and approval
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely, accurate monthly close processes
- Manage two separate QuickBooks systems for CURA Strategies, LLC, and Every 100th Heart nonprofit
- Coordinate with outsourced payroll/HR provider to ensure accurate processing and compliance
- Liaise with outside tax accountant (CPA) to coordinate tax planning, compliance filings, and entity-level tax strategy
- Manage and maintain accurate client-specific employee rates in time tracking system
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements with variance analysis and management commentary
- Develop and maintain budget vs. actuals reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Produce quarterly profitability reporting by client and service line
- Build and maintain monthly staff utilization and capacity models
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support management decision-making
Media Buying & Pass-Through Billing
- Manage the accounting complexity associated with media buying and pass-through billing arrangements
- Ensure accurate tracking, reconciliation, and reporting of client pass-through expenditures
- Develop and maintain controls to distinguish fee revenue from pass-through activity in financial reporting
Dual-Entity Management
- Oversee financial operations for both CURA Strategies (for-profit) and Every 100th Heart (nonprofit)
- Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and reporting requirements
- Maintain clear separation of financial records between entities while providing consolidated visibility to leadership
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with meaningful time in a PR agency, advertising agency, digital marketing firm, or professional services environment
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and proficiency in Excel
- Experience with media buying accounting and pass-through billing reconciliation
- Demonstrated ability to manage full-cycle accounting operations independently
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
Preferred
- CPA designation or progress toward CPA
- Familiarity with agency financial metrics including utilization rates, client profitability, and revenue concentration
- Experience with agency management platforms (e.g., Harvest)
