What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Assistant- Quick Hire position at Cura of Melrose?
Duties:
- Assist in planning and implementing activities for residents in an assisted living facility
- Provide support and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) for senior residents
- Collaborate with social workers and other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of residents
- Engage residents in recreational therapy programs to promote physical and mental stimulation
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure a positive and engaging environment
- Assist with schedule management and coordination of activities for residents
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents
Qualifications:
- Experience or interest in working in senior care or assisted living settings
- Knowledge of ADLs and the ability to assist residents with their daily needs
- Understanding of social work principles and practices related to senior care
- Familiarity with memory care programs and techniques is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic towards the needs of elderly individuals
