Project Manager / Landscape Architect
We are seeking self-motivated, ambitious, and talented individuals to contribute to all phases of landscape design and construction documentation, from master planning through detailed site design. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the abilities outlined below and take on responsibilities that include working directly with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams, as well as mentoring staff. This role requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, along with the ability to work effectively across a wide range of project scales. Responsibilities:
- Lead projects through conceptual design, design development, and technical documentation
- Prepare and deliver client presentations that clearly communicate design intent
- Direct the development of presentation graphics and supporting materials
- Maintain design quality, constructability, and compliance with applicable regulations
- Lead code research and analysis, and integrate requirements into design solutions
- Oversee the preparation of landscape construction documents and permit packages
- Exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions within assigned areas of responsibility
- Manage construction administration through coordination, review, and project support
Experience & Education:
- Degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program; related fields or an AA degree will also be considered
- 9 years of progressive experience in landscape architecture
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Microsoft 365
- Experience with Revit and Monograph a plus
- California landscape architecture license required; additional state licenses a plus
- LEED and/or ReScape certification a plus
Qualifications:
- Strong project leadership and team coordination skills across multiple concurrent assignments
- Excellent written, verbal, and graphic communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize deadlines and manage competing demands
- Knowledge of planting design, including California native and climate-adapted species selection
- Understanding of irrigation principles and water-efficient landscape strategies
- Working knowledge of grading, drainage, erosion control, and stormwater design considerations
- Knowledge of landscape construction materials, detailing, and documentation standards
- Familiarity with sustainable site design principles and environmentally responsible practices
- Understanding of ADA accessibility requirements and their application to site design
- Strong design judgment and attention to detail across all phases of project development
- Positive attitude, professional maturity, and a strong commitment to quality
- Ability to work collaboratively with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with people from diverse backgrounds
