Bakery Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bakery Assistant to support our current team in our bakery environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about the baking industry, customer service and high-quality baked goods. The ideal candidate will have a background in kitchen operations, food safety, food service and culinary techniques and customer service. Baking and Decorating experience would be a Plus. This is also a great opportunity for an Entry-Level position, as we are happy to train and mentor. This position is essential in ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining product quality, and delivering excellent customer experiences.

This position requires closing shifts as well as at least one shift each weekend.

Responsibilities

• Customer Service is the top priority
• Support bakery production processes including making frosting and fillings
• Package baked goods efficiently for retail or catering purposes
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work stations in compliance with food safety regulations
• Handle ingredients and supplies with proper food handling procedures
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
• Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for team members

Skills

• Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts preferred
• Knowledge of food industry standards including food safety and handling procedures
• Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation and baking
• Familiarity with small scale bakery equipment
• Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or guests during catering or retail activities
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Previous restaurant or food service experience is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy kitchen setting

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
