Job Description

We are looking for a talented Machinist to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fletcher, NC.

Job Summary:

Analyzes and manufactures complex components using machine tool equipment. Learns and understands the protocols of working safely with electricity and other energy sources with industrial equipment. May work independently and instruct or coach others.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:
• Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

Qualifications

Lap Line Overview:

• This position is responsible for the safe setup, operation, inspection, and operator maintenance of Lap Line work-centers, including operating, manual load/unload of lapper and tester.
• Position is responsible to produce components that meet and/or exceed Cummins design engineering specifications, while meeting standard productivity cost and delivery targets.
• Position will be able to perform changeovers, setups, recognize contact issues and make machine/process adjustments as needed, problem solving, support training and identify improvement opportunities for lapper, washer and tester.

Flexibility is required as this position will have to operate various work-centers that will be required for production as needed.
