POSTED ON 9/2/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/30/2026
We are looking for a talented Production Coordinator to join our 2 nd Shift team specializing in Manufacturing at our Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems Business Unit facility in York, SC.

The Production Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of production activities within their assigned area. The coordinator serves as the frontline leader on the production floor and supports the supervisor by driving Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP) performance. The coordinator is expected to maintain a strong floor presence, identify issues early, and take immediate action or escalate when additional support is required.

The Production Coordinator should actively lead the line, not simply work a production station. Their primary responsibility is maintaining awareness of the entire operation, verifying required checks, driving accountability, responding to abnormalities, and keeping the supervisor informed.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Champion workplace safety by following HSE standards, identifying and reporting hazards, using appropriate PPE, and helping create an injury-free work environment.
  • Protect quality and reduce waste by following standard work, SPC requirements, poka-yoke methods, and visual standards to ensure products consistently meet specifications.
  • Deliver products that meet customer expectations by operating manual and automated equipment with precision to achieve required product characteristics, dimensions, and performance standards.
  • Drive production performance by meeting cycle times, achieving production goals, and maintaining a high level of proficiency in core manufacturing processes.
  • Minimize quality and cost risks by identifying non-conforming material, performing inspections, and escalating issues before they impact customers or operations.
  • Support equipment reliability and operational efficiency by performing operator care activities, maintaining clean work areas, and partnering with skilled trades to identify and address equipment issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by actively participating in initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, material flow, and overall process effectiveness.
  • Strengthen teamwork and plant performance by communicating effectively with peers and support teams, completing required training, and remaining flexible to support changing business and production needs.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Communicate clearly and effectively by sharing information, expectations, concerns, and updates in a way that ensures alignment across team members, support functions, and leadership.
  • Demonstrate courage and speak up when needed by addressing safety concerns, quality issues, production challenges, and process improvement opportunities before they become larger problems.
  • Drive results consistently by maintaining a strong focus on production goals, quality standards, and operational performance, even during challenging circumstances.
  • Hold yourself and others accountable by taking ownership of responsibilities, following through on commitments, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.
  • Champion health and safety excellence by proactively identifying hazards, reporting concerns, following safety procedures, and contributing to an injury-free workplace culture.
  • Apply strong manufacturing knowledge by understanding equipment, processes, and production requirements to support efficient operations and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and process effectiveness while helping implement sustainable solutions.
  • Value diverse perspectives and foster teamwork by respecting different backgrounds, experiences, and viewpoints to strengthen collaboration, problem-solving, and overall team performance.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Safety: Ensure employees follow all safety requirements, including PPE, lifting devices, safe work practices, and established procedures. Address unsafe behaviors immediately and escalate concerns to the supervisor.
