Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced electrical estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will experience with electrical projects and an understanding of contracts and project management. This role requires proficiency in various estimating software, as well as excellent attention to detail. The estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate pricing and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical contracting work, both retrofit and new construction.
- Analyze specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Utilize estimating software to generate accurate bids.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project goals.
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best pricing.
- Monitor project costs and provide updates to ensure adherence to budget constraints.
- Review contracts to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all estimates, changes, and communications related to pricing.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, particularly within electrical projects.
- Familiarity with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards is preferred.
- Strong understanding of cost control measures and pricing strategies in the construction industry.
- Experience with construction site operations and management is advantageous.
- Proficient in using estimating software such as Bluebeam and HeavyBid.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
