We are currently hiring a Senior Project Manager to support public educational facility projects in Orange County, CA. This is a highly visible, high-impact role that will put you at the forefront of building the educational future. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides managerial and construction oversight over all aspects of the project, including budget, schedule, quality, risk, project and document control, operational needs, contract administration, etc.
  • Manage on-site work, including supervision of contractor, subcontractors, specialty consultants, etc.
  • Resolves complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements.
  • Reviews status and overall construction project progress relative to submitted construction schedules.
  • Reviews change orders from all construction projects and assesses their impact on the school district.
  • Assesses bid specifications for District need and probability of completion under stated timeline.
  • Reviews status and monitors variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reporting.
  • Reviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and performs overall fiscal management of multiple construction projects.
  • Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including construction project schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control.
  • Reviews and monitors overall administration of contracts for the architect and related consultants.
  • Reviews and takes recommended actions in resolving disputes relative to construction projects.
  • Develops and recommends internal policies and procedures.

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes or similar.
  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Manage and monitor team members' activity in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Delegate providing clear instructions and ongoing feedback.
  • Monitor metrics and course correct as necessary while holding self and others accountable.
  • Provide feedback to senior leaders and clearly communicate organizational direction to team members.
  • Build relationships with key internal resources (peers, direct reports, & senior leaders).
  • Create development opportunities and plan for direct reports and teams; provide ongoing feedback.
  • Exercise creativity and resourcefulness in independently managing the project effectively in a compressed timeframe.
  • Ability to distinguish between cause and effect of problems.
  • Actively listen and communicate effectively, clearly, unambiguously, and completely in both written and oral formats.

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field is required.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in management of multiple construction projects; experience within a large capital improvement program and familiarity with relevant Public Codes.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of prior experience in Educational Facility Construction highly preferred.
  • Preferred Certification: CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED

The salary range for this full-time role is $132,800.00-$185,933.36 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
