Our firm is currently looking for a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) to work on-site with our client in Santa Ana, CA. The CASp Specialist will successfully manage the design and construction process on behalf of a public school district, with specific emphasis on accessibility requirements. The salary range for this full-time role is $106,800.00-$142,400.02 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. Cumming Group reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with district staff to manage the planning and pre-design activities such as feasibility studies, space utilization studies, sustainability reports, master-plan updates, and CEQA studies, with a special emphasis on physical accessibility of district projects.
- Manage the design phases for capital improvement projects, scheduled maintenance projects and ADA upgrades with accessibility components.
- Manages multiple projects through interaction with Architects, consultants, and District personnel to ensure timely completion of these projects.
- Perform peer reviews and have a thorough understanding of the Division of State Architect (DSA) and other authorities review and approval processes.
- Oversees the building design process to ensure compliance with client’s standards and guidelines for the District by working with design professionals and various District administrators to ensure that new and modernized structures meet both educational and building standards requirements.
- Provides Architects with clear and consistent direction with regard to goals and objectives, standards, site, schedule, and budget for each project.
- Establishes and follows an effective and efficient design review process to ensure that the design meets the overall goals and objectives for each project.
- Provides maximum value for dollars budgeted and are appropriate and enduring to meet the functional needs of the District, the local community, and the environment.
- Reviews design changes submitted to ensure project remains within budget.
- Monitors project planning and design status to report findings, recommendations, and updates.
- Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Engineering is required.
- Eight (8) years' of full-time paid professional experience managing the facilities design, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that included the overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities.
- Prior experience must be with the design, planning and construction of educational facilities or similar public agencies.
- A valid Certification as a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) is required.
