About The District
The Cumberland Valley School District has two openings for a School Psychology Internship for the 2026-2027 school year. The CVSD is a suburban school district in Cumberland County, located about 15 minutes southwest of Harrisburg. CVSD consists of 8 elementary schools, two middle schools, a 9th grade academy, and a high school with a population of over 10,000 diverse learners. About The Internship Experience
CVSD provides opportunities for a school psychology intern to gain knowledge in a variety of areas, which are aligned with the NASP Practice Model. The School Psychology Intern will have the opportunity to work with administrators, teachers, specialists, and students across the district. In addition to gaining assessment experience, there are opportunities for interns to focus on areas of interest/specialization, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, consultation, and more.
Supervision will be provided to the School Psychology Intern by a Certified School Psychologist. The field supervisor and the intern will arrange a minimum of 2 hours of face-to-face supervision per week. Additionally, the intern will have the opportunity to work with other school psychologists in the district and will attend monthly department meetings.
The School Psychology Intern will be able to adjust their schedule to include any on-campus meetings with university supervisors that are a part of the university’s school psychology training program. CVSD recognizes that the internship year is a training year for the intern. CVSD will work with the student to ensure the student receives a quality internship experience that will prepare the student to function as an effective school psychologist.
There is a stipend of $25,000 for the 2026-2027 school year, full-time internship if enrolled through the PHEAA - PAHelps Grant. CVSD is accepting applicants from Specialist (Masters 30) and Doctoral candidates. Those interested in applying for the CVSD School Psychology Internship are requested to submit a letter of interest, current resume/CV, and a list of three professional references (at least one should be from a University faculty member). In addition, candidates must complete the district’s standard job application online at cvschools.org and provide necessary clearances.
