Temporary Long-Term Teaching Opportunity Leave Replacement High School Teacher of Physical Education Requirements:

1. Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate in Subject Area Endorsement or Certificate of Eligibility.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of subject specialty and effective teaching methods.
3. The desire to teach high school students and the ability to adapt to their developmental status.
4. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Duties: See attached job description. Effective Date: On or about October 13, 2026, until approximately January 12, 2027, subject to change. Salary: $63,307/year prorated, if not an ESS employee.  If ESS employee, the rate will be $165-$175/day. Benefits: Non-ESS subs only: Employee-only Medical and Prescription benefits offered effective 60 days after start date. Prorated Sick days provided. Deadline: Until filled.

 

*This is a temporary, non-tenure-track position. Pursuant to New Jersey statutory law (N.J.S.A. 18A:16-1.1), the selected candidate will serve strictly in a temporary capacity as a replacement for an absent board employee. Service in this leave-replacement role shall not count toward the acquisition of tenure or seniority within the district.
