The major purpose of this position is to assist staff and the Environmental Health Director in carrying out the administrative duties of the Division.
Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist staff and the Environmental Health Director in carrying out the administrative duties of the Division
- Work closely with the staff in all facets to promote optimum performance for the good of public health
- Render the necessary support and assistance to Environmental Health management support personnel
- Takes complaints in person, by telephone and by email from individuals
Employee is subject to be called upon anytime to help the agency respond to a public health emergency which may include, but is not limited to, outbreak investigations, staffing mass dispensing or immunization clinics, providing disaster relief, or other incidents (man-made or natural and intentional or non-intentional) as they arise, or any public health response requested by the Health Director.
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Must have or obtain and maintain a valid North Carolina driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Background check and negative drug test are required.
