What are the responsibilities and job description for the INTERN-MASTER LEVEL FALL SEMESTER position at Cumberland County Guidance Center?
Dynamic Opportunity~ As an Intern for the Cumberland County Guidance Center, an Intern will shadow task manager and receive clinical supervision from licensed supervisor in the field to learn the population, engage in various counseling approaches, case management model and documentation.
The Guidance Center~ is a primary mental health support agency, providing compassionate, professional care for individuals and families with mental health needs in the greater Cumberland County, NJ area. For more than 60 years, our non-profit organization of professionals, doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, has assisted the community in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of mental illness.
What does this internship look like~ An Intern for the Guidance Center, will learn the DSM 5 diagnoses associated with caseload, manage assigned caseload (if applicable), complete progress notes, treatment plans and program intakes, provide guidance, role-modeling and advocacy for clients, assist in completing social and daily living skills assessments, assist in development of social, daily living and survival skills, promote client usage of community recreational and social services and participates in team meetings, including treatment planning and shares responsibility of implementing treatment plans.
What you need to be considered~
- Enrollment in an accredited institution with which CCGC has an affiliation.
- Mental Health related degree being pursued and official transcript provided.
- Valid automobile driver's license with MVR which meets agency standards.
- Criminal background check completed by agency.
