What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Bus Driver position at CULVER SD 4?

Under general supervision, the Substitute School Bus Driver operates school buses and/or other District vehicles to transport children to and from school and related activities in a safe, timely and economical manner. Duties assigned to employee include, but are not limited to, cleaning of buses and inspecting the vehicle to insure safe operation. Safety and welfare of the students is always the top priority. The school bus driver reports to the Transportation Supervisor.

Qualifications:
- Valid ODE Bus Driver Certification preferred, but not required (District can provide training)
- Valid Class B CDL with Endorsements preferred, but not required (Obtain through DMV)
- Previous bus driving experience preferred, but not required
- Holds, or is able to obtain, CPR and First Aid Certification
- Ability and desire to work with children
- Ability to communicate positively and effectively
- Propane fueling experience preferred, but not required
- Fingerprinting and Criminal History Check at employee’s expense is Required once hired
