Job Description:
CultureFly is seeking a highly creative Product & Packaging Designer to support the development of
licensed consumer electronics, tech accessories, and retail packaging for our growing Five Below
account.
The ideal candidate has experience in the design and development of consumer products from concept through production, including product renderings, turnaround drawings, factory specifications, packaging design, and sample development. This role requires strong creative and technical problem-solving skills, a keen eye for emerging trends, and the ability to translate those insights into fun, commercially successful products and packaging that resonate with today's consumers.
Responsibilities:
• Design and develop licensed consumer electronics and tech accessories from concept through
production.
• Design and develop retail packaging, packaging layouts, mockups, and production-ready
artwork.
• Create product concepts, renderings, draw-overs, turnaround drawings, and factory-ready
specification sheets.
• Develop products across multiple categories including airpod cases, phone cases, phone
charms & accessories, headphones, charging cables, keyboards, and more.
• Design products utilizing a variety of materials and manufacturing processes including silicone,
ABS plastic, injection molded components, and fabric/plush soft goods.
• Create detailed factory specifications, construction guides, and packaging files.
• Work directly with overseas factories to ensure products and packaging are developed,
sampled, and manufactured accurately and on schedule.
• Create digital mockups, presentations, and sell sheets for internal and customer presentations.
• Research trends across social media, gaming, collectibles, beauty, fashion accessories, and
youth culture to develop innovative product concepts.
• Ensure products meet cost targets, quality standards, and retailer requirements.
• Adhere to licensor style guides and approval requirements.Job Duties:
• Bachelor's Degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a
related field.
• 3 years of experience in consumer product and/or retail packaging design.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Working knowledge of 3D software such as Adobe Substance 3D Suite, Rhino, ZBrush, Blender,
or similar programs.
• Strong understanding of retail packaging construction, dielines, and production-ready artwork.
• Strong illustration skills including draw-overs, product turnarounds, and concept visualization.
• Experience creating factory-ready specification sheets and production files.
• Understanding of molded consumer product development and manufacturing processes.
• Experience working directly with overseas factories and sample development.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year DOE
