The Office of State Parks (OSP) serves the citizens of Louisiana and visitors by preserving and interpreting natural areas of unique or exceptional scenic value, planning, developing and operating sites that provide outdoor recreation opportunities in natural surroundings, preserving and interpreting historical and scientific sites of statewide importance and administering intergovernmental programs related to outdoor recreation and trails.
Join our team as a Park Technician and play a vital role in keeping our parks clean, safe, and welcoming for all visitors. In this hands-on position, you will perform a variety of custodial, maintenance, and groundskeeping tasks, including facility cleaning, litter and debris removal, and routine preventative maintenance. You’ll also operate equipment and help maintain park grounds to ensure a well-kept and enjoyable outdoor environment for the community. This posting will be used to fill two positions.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
- Performs custodial duties necessary to maintain clean and sanitary conditions of facilities.
- Cleans interior and exterior of facilities at site.
- Assist in upkeep of site grounds and facilities.
- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools.
- Assists in collection of appropriate fees from site visitors.
- Provides a high level of customer service and assists customers with inquiries.
- Assists with maintaining grounds such as mowing grass, collecting litter, general maintenance, and emptying trash receptacles.
Position-Specific Details:
Location: Bogue Chitto State Park, Franklinton, LA
Appointment Type: These positions will be filled as part-time Classified WAEs, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12 month period. **Starting Hourly Pay varies, depending on experience.**
Work Schedule: Part-time; Mon-Sun; Weekends and Holidays will be required.
