We're a small cheese shop on River Ave, and we're looking for someone to work behind the counter with us during the day. The real job is talking to people - about what they're making for dinner, what they drank in Piedmont that one time, what to bring to a party where they don't know anybody. The cheese is the excuse.
The shape of the day: daytime hours, home before dinner. Cut, wrap, sell, sample, keep the case beautiful, learn constantly.
Who thrives here: People who cook. People who've traveled and paid attention. People who know wine or want to. People who can run their own day without being managed. Big personalities welcome - this is not a quiet job - but so is knowing when to read the room.
What you don't need: cheese experience. We'll teach you everything, and we like teaching. If your resume is a winding road, we're interested in the road.

Culture Cheese Shop is a small, independently owned specialty shop and bistro on River Ave in downtown Holland. We cut and sell cheese, charcuterie, and wine; we serve lunch in the bistro; we build boards for parties and weddings; and we run monthly classes and a cheese club for people who want to go deeper.
