Facilities Maintenance Technician

This is not a corporate facilities director role. It's a hands-on, get-it-done position for someone who takes real pride in keeping things running.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Culton Companies is an exhibit design studio and custom fabrication facility where multidisciplinary teams work under one roof to plan, design, and build creative environments for clients nationwide. Our facility is the engine that makes everything possible — and this role is responsible for keeping that engine running.

We're looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to personally perform the day-to-day upkeep, repairs, and operational readiness of our facility. This is a high-trust, privately held company where you'll work with direct access to ownership, have real autonomy over your work, and be recognized as a critical part of the team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Facility Operations (~80%)

• Perform day-to-day maintenance and repairs throughout the facility — plumbing, HVAC, compressed air systems, power tools, and general building systems
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance to keep systems operating reliably and avoid costly downtime
• Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues and determine when outside vendors are needed
• Assist with equipment moves, shop reconfigurations, furniture assembly, and minor installations
• Proactively identify and address issues before they become larger problems
• Maintain a clean, safe, and fully functional work environment at all times

Vendor Coordination (~10%)

• Coordinate and oversee outside contractors — HVAC, electrical, landscaping, forklift service, and others
• Schedule and follow up on service work and assist with small facility improvement projects

Owner Property & Logistics Support (~10%)

• Provide occasional support for owner properties including primary residence, beach property, and personal vehicles
• Assist with logistics such as vehicle movement and local pickups or deliveries
• Occasional travel to beach property approximately 4.5 hours away

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:

• 3–5 years of hands-on building facilities and maintenance experience
• Strong troubleshooting ability and mechanical aptitude across a variety of building systems
• Comfortable performing physical repairs and hands-on tasks every day — this is not a desk role
• Experience coordinating outside vendors and service providers
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong personal accountability
• High degree of discretion, professionalism, and trustworthiness — you'll work directly with ownership
• Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, professional demeanor
• Valid driver's license

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

• Full-time position — Monday through Friday, generally 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Flexible start and end times available
• Occasional evenings or weekends may be needed; some responsiveness required when issues arise
• Competitive pay commensurate with experience
• Based at our Trussville, Alabama headquarters facility

• Comfortable working in a light manufacturing and warehouse environment
