Personal Support Assistant/Direct Support Professional- Weekends
A young woman in Bowie, Maryland is hiring Personal Support assistants to support her in her everyday life. The positions will focus on supporting the young woman in growing her independence: through support with meal planning, shopping, cooking, laundry, and other household tasks. It may also include some support with daily hygiene.
In addition, these positions will also focus on support in navigating the community: going to places such as the parks/other outdoor venues, stores, and other places. These positions may also include going with the young woman on sailing trips. Sailing experience is not required, but employees must be comfortable around water. Candidates who love music, singing, organization, and sticking to a routine will be the most successful.
The young woman needs support Monday to Thursday 3pm-10pm. The rate of pay begins at $22 an hour with the opportunity for a raise after a successful 90 days. Mileage will be reimbursed for driving during work hours with the employer.
Experience working for people with Autism is a plus COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations are strongly preferred. CPR and First Aid certifications are required for this position; training will be paid for by the employer for exceptional candidates. Current CMT a plus Access to a reliable vehicle and a good driving record is also required.
