Programs:

Our early literacy and family programs include our Dual-Language Individualized Literacy Plans and family literacy workshops. Designed to support 4-to 7-year-old children who need further instruction and practice in reading. Children undergo a reading assessment, and the results are used to craft a custom 9-week reading plan. Parents implement the plan with their children while a reading coach guides them throughout their journey. At the end of the program, children exhibit growth in early literacy skills and confidence, while parents express feeling further agency in supporting their child’s reading.


Job Overview:

The intern will assist with cutting, organizing, and packaging our curriculum materials for Cultivating Literacy’s early readers’ programs. This is a remote role where you will handle physical materials (paper and packaging materials) provided by our team. The goal is to assemble and package 300 units of curriculum within a three-month period.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive printed materials from Cultivating Literacy.
  • Cut, organize, and package curriculum units according to provided guidelines.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of packaged units.
  • Communicate regularly with the team regarding progress and any issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to package materials efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Access to space to package materials (several 10“ x 12" x 15" boxes)
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Based in or near San Jose, CA for ease of receiving materials.

Compensation:

  • $20 per hour, Pay-by-the-project, with the estimated time for packaging 100 units being 20-30 hours. Specific payment details will be discussed during the interview.
