Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Project Engineer 4 (Reliability Engineer). The work will be done onsite at a manufacturing facility in Lafayette, IN, with up to 25% travel within the U.S. as needed to visit machine tool suppliers. This is a long-term 12-month position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to approximately $55.56/hr full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
Cullerton Group is seeking a senior-level Project Engineer with deep expertise in equipment reliability and CNC machining operations. This role focuses on improving machine availability, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and process capability through structured reliability methods and data-driven analysis. The engineer will partner closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and production teams to eliminate chronic equipment losses, stabilize throughput, and embed reliability-focused standard work across machining centers.
- Key ResponsibilitiesLead reliability improvements for CNC machining centers to enhance equipment availability, OEE, and process stability
- Analyze maintenance and reliability data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions
- Conduct root cause investigations (RCCA, PFMEA) and implement permanent solutions to chronic equipment failures
- Deploy Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and operator care initiatives on constraint machining centers
- Influence reliability in new equipment design, commissioning, and New Capital Introduction (NCI) activities
- Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, equipment reliability, or maintenance engineering
- Black Belt certification with demonstrated application in maintenance or reliability improvement initiatives
- Strong experience with CNC machining centers, asset maintenance strategies, and reliability analytics
- Proficiency with Llumin CMMS, Microsoft O365, and Power BI
- Preferred QualificationsExperience with predictive maintenance technologies (vibration, lubrication, thermal monitoring)
- Hands-on CNC experience, including machine setup, operation, or programming
- Experience supporting New Capital Introduction (NCI) projects or large equipment launches
- Project management experience and ability to coach operators and technicians on defect tagging and basic care
