Payroll Specialist
Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to support weekly payroll operations within a construction environment. This role will manage payroll processing, employee records, compliance reporting, and payroll-related employee support. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and experience supporting a field-based workforce.
Responsibilities
- Process weekly payroll accurately and ensure timely completion
- Review timekeeping records and resolve discrepancies with field teams
- Maintain employee payroll records, deductions, adjustments, and related documentation
- Support certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance requirements
- Utilize certified payroll compliance platforms to maintain accurate reporting and documentation
- Assist with employee onboarding, benefits administration, and HR-related processes
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits
- Maintain confidential personnel information and support audits/reporting as needed
- Partner with operations and leadership to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance
Qualifications
- 5 years of payroll processing experience
- Multi-state payroll for 100 employees
- Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred
- Construction industry payroll experience is a plus
- Experience with certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage compliance preferred
- Experience using certified payroll compliance platforms preferred
- Experience with payroll/HRIS systems
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
