Description

A Designer is responsible for design and production of architectural designs, including design, free-hand sketches, 3D modeling, or digital or hand-colored renderings. The designer will collaborate with design and production teams to develop design solutions to different types of projects on an as-needed basis. An ideal candidate will be able to iterate individually and collaborate with teams and be responsive to working with clients and needs of the firm.

Requirements

A Designer I shall have a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and limited experience in an architectural firm. This position requires proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD and other computer aided skills, a basic understanding of architecture and building construction, basic knowledge of codes and an understanding of their interpretation. Good communication skills, both written and verbal are required.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce architectural designs, including iterative design process
  • Complete designated scope of work within allotted time
  • Research and apply applicable design and code issues
  • Coordinate work with production team
  • Collaborate within design and production teams
  • Limited client contact
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, able to handle stressful situations and multi-tasking, able to work under time constraints, long hours may be required. Work Environment

Must be able to handle stressful situations, multi-tasking, and working within reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets. Will work in normal office environment and may also be required to work outside of a normal office from time-to-time.
