What are the responsibilities and job description for the CPAC Technician Pool (Short-Term/Temporary) position at Cuesta College (CA)?
We are hiring multiple people at all technical skill levels; some experience required; rate commensurate with experience ($16.60-$23.34). Broad Scope and Function
CPAC Technicians will work under the supervision of the CPAC Supervisor, CPAC Technical Director/Coordinator, or Back-of-House Facilitator (BOHF) to set up and operate theatrical equipment for live performances and presentations. Technicians should have a strong working knowledge of theatrical systems and both front-of-house & back-of-house etiquette.Qualifications for all Technicians

- Ability to follow instruction and to work well with others.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Ability to meet stringent deadlines and work at irregular hours.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of students, staff, and community members.
- Beginning or intermediate-level knowledge and understanding of theatrical equipment used for live performances and presentations.
- Interest in one or multiple technical specialties.
Preferred Qualifications for TECH III & IV
- Advanced-level knowledge and understanding of theatrical equipment and systems used for live performances and presentations.
- Ability to lead multiple crews to complete tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities for Technician Pool
- Under supervision, safely operate most of the theatrical systems, including: counterweight fly, fire safety, lighting, effects, sound, projection, etc.
- Safely operate at least one system without supervision.
- Strive to acquire working knowledge of all theatrical systems used at the CPAC.
- Adhere to all CPAC policies and procedures and ADA regulations, and assist with evacuation plan in the event of an emergency.
- Attend training workshops and maintenance calls.
- Create an atmosphere of mutual trust and support.
- Work and communicate effectively with students of all skill levels, professional staff, and Cuesta College faculty and administrators.
- Exhibit a helpful attitude toward all students, and staff, and community members.
Salary : $17 - $23
