Overview
Cucuro Contracting LLC is seeking a dependable, hardworking Construction Laborer / Carpenter Helper to join our residential remodeling team.
This position involves assisting experienced carpenters and other team members with residential renovation projects throughout East Tennessee. We are looking for someone who shows up consistently, follows directions, takes initiative, works efficiently, and is willing to learn and develop new construction skills.
Previous construction, remodeling, or carpentry experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. We are willing to train someone who demonstrates a strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in learning the residential construction trade.
Our projects may include kitchen and bathroom renovations, interior remodeling, decks and outdoor living spaces, framing, finish carpentry, flooring, demolition, and other residential improvements.
Responsibilities
- Assist experienced carpenters and other team members with residential remodeling projects Load, unload, carry, and organize construction materials, tools, and equipment Assist with demolition and debris removal Perform jobsite setup, daily cleanup, and organization Assist with framing, carpentry, trim, flooring, decking, cabinetry, and other remodeling work as directed Measure, cut, prepare, and install materials based on experience and instruction Safely operate basic hand and power tools based on experience and training Keep tools, materials, and work areas clean and organized Protect clients’ homes, belongings, and property throughout construction Follow instructions and complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently Take initiative and remain productive throughout the workday Learn new skills and accept additional responsibilities as experience and ability grow Follow all company and jobsite safety procedures
Qualifications
- Previous construction, carpentry, remodeling, or general labor experience is preferred but not required Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to follow directions and accept constructive feedback Ability to communicate effectively and work well as part of a team Ability to work independently after receiving instructions Comfortable performing physically demanding construction work Ability to lift and carry construction materials and equipment safely Basic experience with hand and power tools is preferred Attention to detail and respect for quality workmanship Professional and respectful while working in clients’ homes Reliable transportation to assigned project locations is required
Job Location
Project locations vary throughout East Tennessee. Employees generally report directly to the assigned residential jobsite and must have reliable transportation.
Compensation
$17–$20 per hour based on previous construction experience, demonstrated skills, reliability, work ethic, and ability to complete assigned tasks.
Opportunities for increased responsibilities, skill development, advancement, and increased compensation may be available based on performance and growth.
