CUCAMONGA MEDIA

Director of Operations & Strategy

Denver, CO  ·  Hybrid  ·  Full-Time

About Cucamonga Media

We’re a women-owned fractional marketing agency based in Denver, supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners with influencer marketing, UGC creator management, paid social, email marketing, and full-scope strategy. We’re growing fast, and we need a right-hand person who can run the day-to-day so our CEO can focus on growth.

The Role

We’re looking for a Director of Operations & Strategy to be the driving force behind our agency’s daily operations, client relationships, and creative quality. This isn’t just an ops role — you’ll bring creative instincts, social media expertise, and leadership experience to the table. You’ll work side by side with our CEO to build and scale this agency, manage our team, oversee client work, and help shape what Cucamonga becomes next.

If you’ve ever looked at a growing agency and thought “I know exactly how to take this to the next level,” this is your role.

What You’ll Do

Creative & Social Media Oversight

  • Bring deep knowledge of social media — you live and breathe it
  • Oversee and give specific, actionable feedback on creative deliverables (not just “I don’t like this”, tell us why and what to change)
  • Step in to create content when needed, you’ve got an eye for aesthetics and aren’t afraid to get hands-on
  • Stay current on trends across paid social, influencer marketing, and organic content

Operations & Agency Management

  • Own the day-to-day operations of the agency, including emails, scheduling, workflows, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks
  • Develop, document, and maintain SOPs across all departments
  • Identify inefficiencies in operational workflows and implement improvements
  • Manage and optimize our project management tools (Notion, Dubsado etc.)
  • Build and maintain internal systems for time tracking, reporting, and team scheduling
  • Own CRM implementation and ongoing data organization
  • Leverage AI tools to streamline processes and keep us ahead of the curve

Team Leadership & Hiring

  • Manage and mentor our team, setting priorities and keeping everyone aligned
  • Play a key role in hiring and building out the team to best support your role and the agency as we grow
  • Manage new hire onboarding and training documentation
  • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development for team members
  • Support team scheduling and resource allocation

Client Relationships & Growth

  • Be the point person for client communication — you’re warm, responsive, and solution-oriented
  • Address client feedback and work cross-functionally to improve service quality
  • Support monthly reporting processes and client communication workflows
  • Ensure deliverables meet Cucamonga’s quality standards before they go out the door
  • Tap into your network to help generate leads and new business opportunities

What You Bring

  • 5 years in operations, project management, or agency management — ideally in a marketing or creative agency
  • Real experience with social media (paid ads, influencer marketing, organic) — not just familiarity, actual hands-on work
  • A strong creative eye and genuine love for aesthetics and content
  • Leadership experience — you’ve managed people and know how to give feedback that makes work better
  • Experience developing SOPs and implementing process improvements
  • Hands-on experience with project management and scheduling tools (Notion is a plus)
  • CRM implementation or management experience
  • A solid professional network and a knack for relationship-building
  • Openness to using AI tools to work smarter, not harder
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, growing environment where you’ll wear multiple hats

Bonus Points

  • Experience with Notion as a project management and documentation tool
  • Background in analyzing time tracking data and team utilization
  • Prior experience managing onboarding processes end-to-end
  • Experience with UGC creator management or influencer campaign execution

Where This Role Is Going

Right Now

We’re a tight-knit team of four, and this role will be #5. That’s by design — we’ve built something we’re proud of, and now we need someone who can run the engine while our CEO focuses on what’s next. In this stage, you’ll be deep in the day-to-day: overseeing creative output, managing client relationships, building SOPs, getting our project management systems dialed in, and making sure our team is running as efficiently as possible. You’ll work directly with our CEO and have a real seat at the table.

Where We’re Headed

As we grow, this role grows with you. You’ll be instrumental in strategically building out the team — identifying what roles we need, when to hire, and how to onboard new people into a system that actually works. You’ll also play a key role in scaling our client roster and bringing in new business through your network and relationships. Think of it this way: you’re the person who makes Cucamonga run so well that growth becomes inevitable.

Why Cucamonga?

  • Be the #2 at a growing agency where your work has real, visible impact
  • Work side by side with our CEO to build something from the ground up
  • Hybrid flexibility based in Denver
  • A culture that’s supportive, positive, and a little quirky (just how we like it)
  • Room to grow and shape the role as the agency scales

How to Apply

Send us your resume, your portfolio and a quick note about why you’re excited about this role. We’d love to hear about a time you led a team through a challenge or a process you built that you’re proud of.

Applicants without portfolios will NOT be considered.

Cucamonga Media is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all team members.
