Job Title : Supplier Quality Engineer II

Location: Orlando, FL 32817

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Duration: 12-Month Contract with Possible Extension

pay : $45/hr - $50/hr


Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer II to join a leading manufacturing organization in Orlando, Florida. This role is responsible for driving supplier quality performance, managing supplier qualification activities, leading root cause investigations, conducting supplier audits, and ensuring manufacturing processes meet stringent quality requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in complex manufacturing environments, including welding and machining, and be comfortable traveling to supplier locations as needed.


Key Responsibilities

Lead Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) activities at supplier locations.

Manage supplier quality issues and non-conforming components identified at manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and customer locations.

Drive supplier corrective actions through structured problem-solving methodologies.

Conduct supplier audits and oversee implementation of corrective actions.

Support supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

Develop, maintain, and improve supplier quality requirements and specifications.

Coordinate supplier qualification and approval processes in accordance with corporate standards.

Lead supplier root cause investigations and corrective action activities.

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve quality concerns.

Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities and identify improvement opportunities.

Support cost reduction initiatives through supplier engagement and process improvements.

Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and industry standards.

Present supplier quality performance and project updates to leadership teams.

Foster strong supplier relationships through regular interaction and on-site support.


Required Qualifications

Technical training or degree in Quality, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering.

3–5 years of Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Engineering experience.

Strong technical knowledge of complex manufacturing processes, particularly welding and machining.

Experience working with critical components, including shafts, discs, and complex assemblies.

Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent).

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

Experience managing Product and Process Qualifications (PPQs).

Strong root cause analysis and corrective action experience.

Knowledge of inspection methodologies and manufacturing quality controls.

Excellent project management and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple quality investigations simultaneously.

Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior leadership.

Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to travel up to 50% to supplier locations, including Connecticut.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience with quality improvement tools such as:

8D Problem Solving

5 Whys

Ishikawa (Fishbone) Analysis

SAP experience.

Previous experience in aerospace, energy, gas turbine, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.
