Job Title: HR Generalist / HR Representative (Manufacturing Operations)
Location: Round Lake, IL 60073 (100% Onsite)
Contract Duration: 3 Months Contract with possibility of Extension
Shift Structure: First Shift | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible core hours)
Pay Rate: $34.00 - $37.00/hr on W2
Medical/Facility Exclusions: Must have no known allergies or sensitivities to Penicillin or Cephalosporins due to potential environment exposure in pharmaceutical manufacturing areas. Employees may be required to shower in designated clean areas.
Job Description: Our client, a global healthcare and medical manufacturing leader, is seeking an HR Generalist / HR Representative to support human resources operations at their manufacturing facility in Round Lake, IL. In this dynamic, onsite role, you will serve as a primary HR point of contact for plant employees and operational leaders—focusing heavily on leave administration (FMLA), ADA workplace accommodations, employee relations resolution, and life-cycle support (onboarding to offboarding). Key Responsibilities:
- Leave & Accommodation Administration: Manage employee leave programs (FMLA, short-term/long-term disability) and lead the interactive process for ADA workplace accommodation requests in full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Employee Relations (ER): Provide guidance and conflict resolution support to line managers and plant employees, independently handling straightforward employee relations matters and maintaining strict confidentiality.
- HR Operations & Life Cycle: Assist with core employee life cycle processes including recruitment, candidate onboarding, orientation, and offboarding workflows.
- HRIS Systems & Data Management: Maintain accurate, compliant, and confidential employee records using Workday and corporate HR software systems.
- Onsite Employee Support: Serve as the front-line HR resource for walk-in employee inquiries, tracking recurring workforce trends, and partnering with HR leadership to propose strategic solutions.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of professional Human Resources Generalist or HR Representative experience, ideally within a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Operational knowledge of FMLA, ADA, EEOC, and applicable employment laws and leave management procedures.
- Software Competency: Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and enterprise HRIS software.
- Facility Medical Requirement: Absolutely no allergies or sensitivities to Penicillin or Cephalosporins due to potential plant facility exposure.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Stand-Out Skills (Preferred):
- Hands-on professional experience navigating and processing employee updates within Workday.
- Proven track record managing sensitive employee relations cases with sound judgment, tact, and confidentiality in a plant environment.
