Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Electronics Engineering Technician to support prototype bring-up, PCB assembly troubleshooting, testing, and debugging activities. This role involves working closely with engineering teams to identify root causes of failures, perform rework, and support product development through testing and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform inspection, testing, and failure analysis on electronic assemblies to determine root causes of defects
- Troubleshoot PCB and subassembly failures using standard test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Conduct manual testing of electronic circuits and printed circuit boards per engineering instructions
- Develop and maintain test programs using TAKAYA APT-1600FD flying probe system
- Build and modify test harnesses, fixtures, loads, and prototype circuit boards
- Rework and repair products in accordance with company and industry standards
- Document test results, analysis, and work performed accurately
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve design and process issues and support corrective actions
- Create and update test procedures and documentation for prototype products
- Design and build advanced engineering test setups and test boxes
- Maintain and repair lab and test equipment as needed
- Train and support other team members when required
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Associate degree in Electronics, Technical Diploma, Military Certification, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills for PCB assemblies and electronic systems
- Knowledge of electronic components and manufacturing processes
- Hands-on experience with test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and datasheets
- Mechanical aptitude with ability to assemble/disassemble components
- Strong documentation and data analysis skills
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, spreadsheets, documentation tools)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- 3 years of experience in PCB troubleshooting and failure analysis
- Experience with fine-pitch surface mount soldering
- Experience with advanced test equipment (logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers)
- Familiarity with PCB layout and design tools
- Experience with 3D printing and prototyping
- Experience machining or modifying materials (metal, plastic, fiberglass, etc.)
- Experience working with heavy equipment or industrial electronic systems
