Elementary Counselor

Job Description: The Crawford County R-II School District is seeking to hire an Elementary  Counselor at the Cuba Elementary School for the 2025-26 School year.  Cuba Elementary is a PreK-4 building.  
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborates and consults with teachers, administrators, and other staff in the building or district for the purpose of providing/receiving information and/or making recommendations regarding students' personal/social development and academic success through goal setting.
• Collaborates, consults, and conferences with parents for the purpose of providing/receiving information and/or making recommendations regarding students' personal/social development and academic success through goal setting, as well as providing appropriate referral information when necessary.
• Coordinates, conducts, and/or participates in activities for the purpose of contributing to the effectiveness of school programs and in meeting students' needs.
• Develops and implements a variety of special programs for the purpose of providing relevant information, data, and research regarding students' personal/social development and academic success through goal setting in accordance with the building and district goals and objectives.
• Evaluate and revise the school guidance program to ensure that the program is effective and compatible with district and building goals and objectives.
• Guides and counsels individual students and groups to meet developmental, educational, and guidance needs.
• Monitors students' progress to identify personal/social development needs and academic success through goal-setting progress and providing appropriate intervention to increase student success.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the school community.
• Serves as a liaison between the home, school, and appropriate community resources to coordinate efforts to meet students' personal/social development needs, and academic success through goal setting.
• Works with the A Coordinator
• Other Duties as assigned by the building principal
• Crawford County operates on a 4-day school week.

  QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certification: Valid Missouri Counselor’s Professional Certificate
• Effective oral and written communication skills
