Due to the nature of this role, we will only consider candidates who currently reside in Colorado or those with tentative plans to relocate to Colorado.

 

This job offers a primarily remote work structure with on-site work required as dictated by the needs of the job.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated EPIC Optimization Program Manager to join our Community Practice team.

 

The EPIC Optimization Program Manager serves as a strategic leader responsible for optimizing clinical and operational workflows through the effective use of Epic. This role bridges the gap between clinical operations and IT, ensuring that informatics solutions align with organizational goals, enhance patient care, and improve provider efficiency. The Program Manager collaborates closely with the Director of Medical Informatics to lead a dyad model that integrates both clinical and operational perspectives.

 

The EPIC Optimization Program Manager will serve as a liaison between CU leadership and UCHealth IT administration, helping to navigate existing challenges as well as partnering to develop new workflows. They will lead the CU SOM Epic Optimization (EOT) team to ensure all clinics and support staff are adequately supported.

 

Essential Duties

  • Oversees and advances the CU SOM Epic SuperUser Program, including competency standards and ongoing development.
  • Leads the development and implementation of training programs for Epic SuperUsers, clinical staff, and other users, ensuring effective use of Epic tools and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
    • Coordinates with the Education team to incorporate Epic training into new hire onboarding.
  • Provides targeted site visits and elbow support for clinical staff. Ensures successful adoption of Epic tools and workflows.
  • Continuous evaluation of training effectiveness, ongoing collaboration with educators and clinical practice managers to enhance training and post hire support.
  • Leads and coordinates Epic workflow redesign initiatives that support operational excellence across CU Medicine clinics. 
  • In collaboration with physicians and staff, identifies opportunities to optimize Epic workflows, improve documentation accuracy, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Direct and prioritize Epic enhancement requests, ensuring alignment with clinical workflows and organizational priorities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clinical leadership, operational stakeholders and IT teams, translating clinical needs into actionable technical solutions.
  • Supports Epic go-lives and onboarding for new clinics and provides ongoing Epic support for existing clinics.
  • Attends Community Practice operational team meetings and provides updates on new and existing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to assess readiness, manage change, and drive continuous improvement in informatics adoption.
  • Mainitains and updates the Epic Optimization website, fields services requests, ensures timely and accurate information is readily available.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • 5-8 years of related work experience required
  • EPIC Certification required, preferably EpicCare AMB and Cadence
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills

The listed pay range (or hiring rate) represents CU Medicine’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting and is based on evaluation of competitive market data.

A variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, and education will be considered when determining the final offer.

Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
