Electrical Component Engineer 3 Job Description
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply engineering expertise to assess components for assembly and repair.
- Collaborate with suppliers to qualify electronic components per contractual standards.
- Understand aircraft and weapons design to recommend appropriate alternate electrical components for both new and legacy programs.
- Utilize project management tools to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance goals with minimal supervision.
- Integrate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), LEAN, and Quality principles into materials, processes, research, and lab testing.
- Support the establishment of work statements, define strategies, and provide consultation while keeping management informed.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with military and/or industry specifications.
- Experience in harsh environment/high-reliability design settings, including aerospace, medical devices, automotive, or industrial applications.
- Proficiency with connectors, wires, and cables, including fabrication and installation.
- Background in electrical design and testing of components, wiring harnesses, connectors, and cables.
- Experience in military aerospace disciplines, particularly in Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems (EWIS).
- Knowledge of military electronics and relevant electrical mil specs and aerospace industry standards.
- Insight into wiring design, cables, and connectors, with 3-5 years in a role where these were primary responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with typically 5 or more years of experience in an engineering classification, or
- Master's degree with typically 3 or more years of experience in an engineering classification, or
- PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
