Position Summary
This position is an important member of a multi-disciplinary team and provides new product development and project launch support. The position provides core technical support to build prototypes or evaluate tested products and also provides skilled support to the electrical engineering design and product validation teams where needed.
Key Responsibilities
· Build prototypes and document results per engineering direction for internal or customer testing.
· Evaluate post-test or engineering return products, generate teardown reports for the engineering team.
· Participate in product failure analysis and corrective action planning.
· Perform incoming inspection on prototype components, and manage on-site prototype inventory through the PC/MRP system.
· Assist with benchmarking and analysis of competitive products/technologies.
· Works with the product team to ensure product design and performance compliance with CTS, regulatory, and customer specifications.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Electrical circuit analysis skills required which include the ability to read electrical schematics, perform basic DC circuit calculations and use standard lab equipment (Volt/Ohm meters, Power supplies, and Oscilloscopes).
· Experience with ECAD software is a plus (Altium or other).
· Understanding of cause-and-effect relationships that will provide the skill to identify and solve problems using tools such as FTA, 8-D, 5-why analysis, etc.
· Ability to use Microsoft office required.
· Self-motivated and results orientated, proactive with outstanding planning and follow up skills.
· Capable of managing and prioritizing multiple projects/tasks.
· Able to communicate and write effectively resulting in a clear understanding of the issues.
· Experience with hand-soldering including surface mount components preferred.
· Strong mechanical skills preferred.
Required Qualifications
· Engineering Technology degree required (AS or BS), EET degree strongly preferred.
