Role Description The Material Handler role at CTI - Gas Detection Specialists is a full-time, on-site position based in Columbia, MO. This role is responsible for safely unloading incoming materials, moving and organizing components and finished products within the facility, and supporting production and service teams with accurate material flow. Day-to-day tasks include shipping and receiving activities, packing orders, labeling and staging products for shipment, and maintaining clean and orderly storage areas. The Material Handler also assists with inventory control by counting stock, updating records, and reporting discrepancies, while following safety procedures and handling equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts as authorized.
Qualifications
- Experience with Shipping & Receiving activities, including handling incoming and outgoing shipments and preparing related documentation.
- Ability to perform Unloading and Material Handling tasks safely, including moving, organizing, and storing materials using appropriate equipment.
- Knowledge of Inventory Control practices, such as cycle counts, stock rotation, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Skills in Packing and order preparation, including labeling, wrapping, and staging products for transport.
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move materials as required, stand for extended periods, and follow established safety procedures.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with basic computer systems or inventory software and willingness to learn company-specific processes.
