What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Specialist- GPO position at CTI/ASD?
JOB SUMMARY: We are looking for a Logistics Specialist for our GPO contract.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews shipment case file for understanding of total Government Bill of Lading requirement.
- Determines correct consignment.
- Determines application of several fiscal appropriations.
- Prepares Government Bills of Lading, for both domestic and international shipments
- Assembles case files ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Performs non-routine cost comparisons of modes and methods of shipment with consideration of uniform tenders, commodity and class rate tariffs, and pertinent accessorial services, including in-transit privileges and/or special handling requirements.
- Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers and provides assistance in the preparation and disposition of the Government Bill of Lading.
- Post-audits small package carrier vouchers which include transportation charges, either paid or pending settlement, as requested by the Office of Finance.
- Performs secretarial and administrative duties.
- Displays a high level of effort and commitment towards performing work.

- Uses office automation systems to perform word processing, database management, electronic spreadsheet and/or other office automation functions.

Required Skills:
Minimum High School Diploma
- Ability to maintain, safeguard, and issue negotiable and accountable forms.
- Ability to understand printing specifications, programs, and print orders.
- Ability to accurately extract varied data from specifications, print orders, and related documents.
- Ability to understand and implement immediate office procedures, practices, and processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to operate computers and other office equipment.
- Skill in using various computer software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) in order to perform word processing and to collect, manage, and report information in an appropriate manner for the intended audience.
Typing skill of 40 words per minute required
