Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Operations Managers, strategically implement lean manufacturing to continually improve the production process in our clearing department.
- Liaise with external suppliers to ensure equipment and consumables used are appropriate to the operations and are the most efficient solution.
- Ensuring the facility layout, at macro & micro levels, is suitable for an efficient manufacturing process.
- Training employees on Lean Manufacturing tools and best practices.
- Communicating and interacting effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Evaluating and updating current procedures (Standard Work) and creating new ones as needed.
- Identifying process and product deficiencies and research improvements.
- Creating and deploying “Process Alerts” as needed.
- Analyzing production process data statistically as needed for taking decisions.
- Capturing and monitoring process data from the different production areas.
- Establishing the proper process Control Plans for the different production areas.
- Implementing process Control Charts for variables or attributes as needed to keep production processes under control.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Strong understanding and experience of Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing
- Hands on experience with Continuous Process Improvement due diligence and assessments.
- Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills, and follow-up skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to create and deliver presentations.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Power Point - will need to be able to chart and graph trends, create metrics, and track and monitor data.
- Strong skills in creating process flows using Visio, OmniGraffle, or similar software's.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of management.
- Must be detail oriented and a team player.
- Must be flexible in work duties and schedule.
- Strong root cause and trend analysis reporting skills.
- Minimum of 1 year of Continuous Improvement Process Engineering experience
- Experience with multiple Lean Manufacturing tools and best practices
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- Demonstrable knowledge of implementing lean manufacturing/continuous improvement
- Six Sigma Green Belt qualification would be desirable
- CAD Software knowledge would be desirable
- Degree Level qualified in an Engineering discipline or equivalent education
