Responsibilities
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Provides accurate and timely programming of all CNC Program Systems and CNC Work Centers as assigned, from blueprint to first article.
- Provides technical support to Lead personnel and setup personnel as needed, including training on set ups, program changes, as well as assisting in resolving problems to avoid production delays.
- Insures accuracy of jobs through the shop by identifying and correcting errors and/or changes on prints when needed.
- Researches and applies knowledge of various materials, insert grades and the tooling required in all machining operations.
- Has a thorough knowledge of blue print reading and has the ability to interpret drawings.
- Accurately operates and understands all aspects of multi axis CNC.
- Provides estimated cycle times to Engineering personnel as requested.
- Designs fixtures, tools, and dies for all areas of production as assigned. Coordinates with all parties involved.
- Works with CNC programmers, setup and machine operators to optimize machining processes and tooling.
- Works on specific engineering projects as assigned by manager.
- Minimum 2 yrs. experience working as a CNC Lathe & Mill Programmer from blueprint to first article.
- Software: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of engineering principles, especially related to machining manufacturing methods and featuring.
- Ability to solve machining problems using proven problem solving methods.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement, and Lean Processes.
- Strong written and verbal skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels in the organization while remaining customer oriented.
- Ability to multi-task, with good organization, attention to detail and ability to prioritize.
- Applies proven technology independently.
- Self-starter capable of solving complex problems with little supervision.
- 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field required
