A Material Handler performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing and delivering a variety of materials, equipment and supplies.
- 2nd Shift: 3:00PM - 11:30PM, Monday-Friday
- Executes foundational tasks within a warehouse environment including but not limited to: packaging, unpackaging, put away, sorting, staging, picking, shipping and preparing units for production.
- Cut open boxed inventory in the storage area or on the rack.
- Place open boxes on the appropriate shelf of the flow rack.
- Walk the length of the flow rack.
- Wrap cords neatly and securely, ensuring they are tangle-free.
- Assist with labeling, tagging, or color-coding wrapped cords as needed for easy identification.
- Consistently meet or surpass daily production and quality goals.
- Complete required paperwork, forms, or digital records accurately and promptly for documentation purposes.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation.
- Responsible for following warehouse safety regulations.
- All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports.
- Capacity to demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and dependability.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Basic computer ability.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
- Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Clerical skills.
- Time-management skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Warehouse environment.
- Stand dynamically for long periods.
- Use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel; the ability to type, pick, pinch with fingers, seize, hold, grasp or turn with hands.
- Lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Push and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Reach up and out with hands and arms
- Occasionally required to climb stairs or ladders.
