Position Overview
We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician to join our high-performing team at a Level III Trauma Center in East Lafayette, Indiana. This role is ideal for a physician who thrives in a high-acuity environment and is looking for a supportive practice setting with strong specialty backup and advanced technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and emergent conditions for a diverse patient population.
- Perform full-scope emergency medicine procedures in a 33-bed department equipped with 3 trauma bays and 13 cardiac-monitor beds.
- Collaborate with specialty services (ENT, Orthopedics, GYN, etc.) to coordinate admissions and transfers.
- Utilize Epic EMR for efficient documentation; scribe support is available to maximize physician focus on patient care.
- Maintain high standards of patient safety and quality metrics in a trauma-designated facility.
Requirements
Education & Training
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
Licensure & Certification
- License: Current Indiana medical license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
- DEA: Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain).
- Board Status: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine.
- Required Certifications (must obtain prior to start):
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
Experience
- Experience in high-acuity emergency medicine preferred.
- Comfortable practicing in a trauma-designated emergency department.
- Ability to manage complex cases with comprehensive inpatient and specialty support.
Facility & Clinical Details
- Patient Volume: ~50,000 ED visits annually.
- Trauma Designation: Level III Trauma Center.
- ED Size: 33-bed Emergency Department.
- 3 dedicated trauma bays.
- 13 cardiac-monitor beds with advanced trauma capabilities.
- Specialty Care: Dedicated rooms for ENT, Orthopedics, GYN, and more.
- Technology: Full Epic EMR integration.
- Support: Scribe support available.
- Call: No call required.
Shift Structure
- Format: 12-hour shifts.
- Availability: Day and Night shifts available.
Salary : $200 - $250
