Job Summary:
The Millwork Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the millwork operations, ensuring that the production process runs smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively while maintaining the highest quality standards. This role involves managing a team of skilled professionals, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The Millwork Director will play a crucial role in driving innovation, improving processes, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight / Management
- Oversee the entire millwork production process, from material procurement to final product delivery.
- Ensure production schedules are met, and quality standards are maintained.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of millwork personnel.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback.
Project Estimating & Management
- Provide accurate millwork estimates for all projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and designers to ensure millwork meets project specifications and timelines.
- Monitor project budgets, control costs, and ensure projects are delivered on time.
- Address any issues or challenges that arise during the production process.
Quality Control / Safety & Compliance
- Establish and enforce quality control standards to ensure all products meet company and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement corrective actions to address any quality issues.
- Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure all employees are trained in safety protocols.
- Conduct regular safety audits and address any areas of concern.
Budgeting and Financial Management
- Develop and manage the millwork department's budget, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving measures.
- Prepare regular financial reports for senior management.
Innovation and Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement new technologies and methodologies.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Lead initiatives to enhance product offerings and increase market competitiveness.
Client Relations
- Maintain relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Address client concerns and provide solutions to any issues that arise.
Resource Management
- Manage inventory levels and ensure the timely procurement of materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of quality materials at competitive prices.
- Optimize the use of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in millwork or related fields, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of millwork production processes, materials, and equipment.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale millwork projects from start to finish.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in project management software and other relevant tools.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
