As the Logistics Supervisor, you will lead, manage and coordinate the Logistic/Warehouse activities and team to ensure Customer expectations and On-time, Complete and Error-free (OCE) business goals are met.
Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role
- Logistics Leadership & Coordination: 100% of the Job
- Leads, manages and coordinates the Logistic/Warehouse (shipping and receiving) processes and activities to ensure Customer expectations and OCE goals are met.
- Determines, sets and implements logistical parameters and KPI’s within the area to meet departmental goals and ensure OCE.
- Oversees and assists in plant inventory activities, as well as cycle counts, to ensure inventory levels are accurate to meet production goals and system accuracy.
- Coordinates and allocates logistical resources to properly flex shipping capacity based on forecast, production planning and demand to ensure OCE deliveries.
- Collaborates, troubleshoots, and coordinates with key areas of the operation to address shipping calendar conflicts, shortages or planning issues, to ensure smooth processing for all areas.
- Plans and coordinates deliveries with distributors and trucking companies to ensure successful execution of inbound/outbound deliveries, within budget parameters.
- Leads, mentors, motivates and engages the team to continually grow towards enhanced safety, delivery and OCE goals.
- Supports and leads Lean initiatives to foster productivity and process improvements within the department or within cross-functional areas.
Position Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or the equivalent is required for this position, with some technical or specialized course work in supply chain or logistics is helpful.
- Experience: 3 years of prior leadership experience in a warehouse or shipping setting within a manufacturing environment; some logistics and inventory control experience helpful; prior Lean and 5S experience is also helpful.
- Certification(s): N/A
- Functional Skills: Excellent planning, organization, prioritization and ability to multi-task multiple projects timely and efficiently. Strong math, analytical and problem-solving/trouble-shooting skills are also required for this role. Excellent attention to detail and follow-up is key. Experience with structured processes who can enhance current processes along the way.
- Technology Aptitude/Skills: Good PC skills, with experience in OTM, Oracle and Microsorft Office Excel is preferred.
- Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to effectively communicate with individuals inside and outside of the organization.
- Leadership/Behaviors: Continuous process improvement mindset and safety oriented with the ability to mentor, train and lead others by example is important for this role. Strong work ethic, good decision-making capabilities, excellent initiative, and the ability to work well with others is also needed. - This position is frequently exposed to a manufacturing and warehouse environment where the noise level is moderate to high and personal protective equipment such as long pants, hard hats, safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel toed shoes are required.
- The position may face exposure to some high-heat areas; variances in temperature; exposure to smells, fumes, working around mechanical parts or moving equipment such as fork trucks, flatbed trucks, and other moving equipment.
- This position may face inclement weather conditions when required to move equipment outside.
