About the Role
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in ASME codes, mechanical system design, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will help ensure that critical mechanical designs meet applicable codes and standards while supporting safe, efficient, and compliant system development.
You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and safety teams to support product development from design through compliance and certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical systems and components in compliance with ASME codes and relevant industry standards
- Interpret and apply national and international standards, including ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, B31.1, and relevant regulatory requirements
- Partner with design, manufacturing, quality, and safety teams to ensure compliance throughout the development lifecycle
- Prepare and review technical documentation, engineering calculations, and compliance reports
- Participate in design reviews, code compliance audits, and safety assessments
- Support certification, licensing, and regulatory submission activities
- Provide technical guidance on materials, fabrication methods, and quality control practices related to code-compliant design
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- 7 years of experience in mechanical system design with a strong focus on ASME code compliance
- Strong working knowledge of:
- ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code
- Piping codes (including B31.1)
- Applicable regulatory and quality requirements
- Experience in nuclear, energy, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated industries strongly preferred
- Proficiency with engineering and design tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and/or ANSYS
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical writing skills
- PE license or progress toward licensure is a plus
