Mechanical Engineer – Balance of Plant (BOP) Systems

Key Responsibilities
Design and develop BOP systems, including piping networks, heat exchangers, pumps, and auxiliary systems.
Perform hydraulic, thermal, and mechanical analyses to ensure system efficiency and safety.
Ensure designs comply with ASME, ANSI, and NRC codes and standards.
Collaborate with electrical, structural, and control systems engineers to achieve integrated plant designs.
Prepare engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design documentation.
Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and system integration activities.
Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and testing phases.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
5 years of experience in Balance of Plant (BOP) or mechanical system design within the nuclear, energy, or industrial sectors.
Strong understanding of piping design, fluid mechanics, and thermal systems.
Familiarity with ASME codes, ANSI standards, and regulatory frameworks.
Proficiency with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or ANSYS.
Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Professional Engineer (PE) license or progress toward licensure preferred.
