Field Engineer - Electrical
An innovative organization in the advanced energy and medical technology sector is seeking an experienced Electrical / Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Field Engineer to support construction and implementation activities for a highly complex industrial facility project.

The Electrical / I&C Field Engineer will work closely with engineering teams, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure electrical and controls systems are installed in accordance with design requirements, quality standards, and commissioning objectives.
Responsibilities
- Support planning, coordination, and field implementation of electrical and I&C systems
- Review drawings, specifications, contractor submittals, codes, and 3D models to resolve field installation issues
- Conduct constructability reviews to identify and mitigate installation or operability concerns
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to develop practical field solutions
- Provide field oversight to verify installations align with approved design documentation
- Support configuration control, testing, turnover, and commissioning activities
- Coordinate directly with contractors to resolve technical and construction-related issues
- Prepare engineering change documentation and drawing markups using Bluebeam or similar tools
- Identify, track, and resolve non-conformance issues and quality concerns
- Perform field walkdowns and support work package closure activities
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe execution of field activities
- Support project closeout and handover to operations and commissioning teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting industrial construction, field engineering, commissioning, or capital projects
- Equivalent field engineering experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements
- Experience working on large industrial, manufacturing, energy, pharmaceutical, process plant, or infrastructure projects strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and vendor documentation
- Familiarity with construction coordination, commissioning, turnover, and quality processes
- Experience with Bluebeam, Adobe, Microsoft Office, and 3D model/navigation tools
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work full-time on an active construction site
- Ability to climb ladders/scaffolding and perform field walkdowns as needed
