This is a foundational role tasked with driving competitive performance, developing talent, and contributing to the long-term identity and culture of the club. The Head Coach will work in close collaboration with the Sporting Director to help shape and implement a clearly defined playing philosophy that aligns with the club’s vision and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of first team performance, including the development and execution of a clear tactical philosophy and game model aligned with the club’s vision and long-term objectives.
- Design, implement, and manage all training sessions, match preparation, and in-game tactical decisions to maximize performance and competitive outcomes.
- Establish a high-performance environment and team culture focused on discipline, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement both on and off the field.
- Collaborate with the Sporting Director to shape and manage the first team roster, including player recruitment, retention, contracts, and performance evaluations.
- Play an integral role in the identification, integration, and development of high-potential academy players into the first team environment, supporting a seamless player pathway and club-wide alignment.
- Manage and mentor the full technical staff—assistant coaches, analysts, performance coaches, medical personnel—ensuring cohesive support around team objectives and individual player development plans.
- Lead technical meetings, film review sessions, and individual performance debriefs, providing direct and actionable feedback to drive player growth.
- Contribute to the club’s domestic and international scouting efforts by evaluating talent, attending scouting events, and working collaboratively with recruitment staff.
- Represent the club with professionalism and integrity in all external communications, including media obligations, community engagements, and league functions.
- Maintain strong working relationships with the front office, academy leadership, and league personnel, contributing to the club’s operational and strategic success.
- Uphold league rules, compliance standards, and club policies at all times, while ensuring player welfare, safety, and a positive team environment.
- USSF “A” License (or equivalent); Pro License preferred.
- 5 years of coaching experience at the professional or high-level collegiate level.
- Demonstrated success in team management and player development.
- Strong tactical understanding and adaptability.
- Effective communicator and leader.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other communication and organizational tools.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with game analysis software such as Hudl, Sportscode, or equivalent platforms for video analysis, data interpretation, and performance feedback.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel for matches and scouting.
