What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Selector (1st shift) position at CSWI w/Subsidiaries?
Job Overview:
The Order Selector will primarily be responsible for picking and fulfilling orders. This is an on-site hourly position and requires a daily presence at our Houston, TX facility. The work schedule is as follows: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday through Friday, with additional hours during peak times and year-end.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily operations
- Pick customer orders accurately according to our Picking Procedure
- Wrap pallets.
- Load trailer & containers.
- Inspect product for damages, report as needed
- Follow all safety protocols and warehouse procedures
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse environment
- Equipment maintenance and upkeep
- Routine cleaning duties
- Interface with management to ensure key objectives are realized
- Listen and follow instructions from supervisor
Minimum Requirements:
- 3 years’ recent experience in Picking and Fulfilling Orders
- 3 years’ recent experience operating Cherry Picker/Order Selector, Forklift, and/or Reach Truck
- Familiarity of use of shipping scanners
- Basic Arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication
Preferred Requirements:
- Proficient in speaking, reading and writing in English
- Inventory systems proficiency: DSI & JDE experience a plus.
- Spanish a plus
Skills/Competencies:
- Proven work experience in warehouse setting
- Able to work independently and safely
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to a warehouse environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to use hands and fingers to type or dial, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position requires computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
