Responsibilities & Duties
College Advisor Mentors will spend 15-20 hours a week in an assigned local high school (or may be virtual) assisting students with college admission and financial aid applications. Maintain files and records on 120 project participants documenting services provided, student progress and outcomes. Conduct financial aid and college application workshops. Attend periodic meetings, training seminars and other events related to stated duties.
Qualifications
Completion of one year of college with good academic standing. Experience working with high school age students from low-income, disadvantaged backgrounds desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Bi-lingual English/Spanish desirable. Must be reliable and punctual.
Must have own transportation, a valid California Driver's License and car insurance.
Must pass Livescan fingerprinting provided by the program.
Days and Hours
POSITION SCHEDULED TO START IN AUGUST 2025.
Must be available at least three days, preferably between the hours of 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. for a total of 15-20 hours a week. Can work with those only available two full days due to fieldwork assignments.
Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
