What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at CSuite Financial Partners?
CSuite Financial Partners has been retained by our client, an Odessa-based provider of industrial-scale electric motor maintenance, repair, testing and related field services serving the Permian Basin, to place a Controller with their growing accounting team.
About the Client
Our client is an Odessa-based provider of industrial-scale electric motor maintenance, repair, testing, and related field services serving customers across Midland, Odessa, and the broader Permian Basin. Founded in 1976, the business supports oil and gas, utilities, substations, green energy, and other industrial customers with mission-critical repair and maintenance work and was acquired in July 2025.
Since the acquisition, the company has been operating with an outsourced controller alongside an internal accounting team made up of an administrative manager plus AP and AR support, though none of those team members are formally trained accountants.
The outsourced controller is currently handling the monthly close and audit support, but management is now looking to add an in-house controller role with an onsite presence in Midland-Odessa, TX. Key pain points include depth of the accounting bench, particularly within AR invoicing, and boots on the ground transactional support and reinforcement of process controls and management, as well as the increased rigor that comes with operating as a subsidiary of a publicly listed company and supporting both external and internal audit requirements.
