University Student Center Service Desk Student Assistant
Job Summary
The Service Desk Student Assistant; under the supervision of the SC Facilities Services Coordinator, provides general information services to customers needing information or to purchase merchandise, tickets, services such as printing or copies. Other responsibilities of the Service Desk Assistant include daily cleaning and organization of workspace, cash management, Warrior Grill game rental oversight, and to assist in providing an inviting environment that caters to the needs of a diverse campus population.

Duties
- Open and close Service Desk on days of operation.
- Operate cash register and Vend (POS web-system).
- Sell tickets such as movie, bus passes, special event tickets, and other miscellaneous tickets.
- Scan, fax and make copies.
- Make prints for the Print N Go service.
- Sign-up students for Weekend Warrior Program trips.
- Organize and clean workspace.
- Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
- Assist other ASI & SC employees with other work- related projects as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications Skills
- Office experience.
- Strong customer service and communication (verbal and non-verbal) skills.
- Cash register and money handling experience.
- Organized and able to work with Excel spreadsheets.
- Self-motivated.
- Ability to work with a diverse population, as well as work independently with little supervision.
- Practice good punctuality and maintain good attendance.
- Possess a positive attitude and work cooperatively with others.
Required
- Currently enrolled, matriculating CSU Stanislaus student with a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
- Work an average of 10-20 flexible hours per week.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements and working conditions include, but are not limited to, sitting for extended periods; frequently standing and walking; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lifting and moving objects weighing up to 20 lbs.; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment, including computer, telephone, copiers.
Work is performed in an office environment and throughout the campus areas during student programs, continuous contact with other staff, students, faculty, and the public.
