- Handle cash register operations with precision.
- Maintain standards of cleanliness at the front desk and galleries.
- Be the welcoming ambassador for gallery visitors, providing information and facilitating sales.
- Manage phone communications efficiently.
- Ensure a secure environment for visitors and artwork alike.
- Coordinate the logistics of receiving and returning artwork for the sales gallery.
- Lead the charge in setting up public programs.
- Engage in community outreach to expand the center's influence.
- Connect with visiting artists-in-residence and CSUF Grad Students living on-site.
- Be on deck for First Saturdays and other pivotal events.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Expertise in leveraging social media platforms to enhance and expand our audience engagement
Insight into the contemporary art field and socially engaged practices. - Exceptional proficiency in both written and verbal communication
- Experience in the contemporary art world, museum, or gallery setting is a plus.
- Ability to connect with diverse communities—from local neighbors and academic circles to art enthusiasts of all ages.
- Proficiency in Mac platform and Microsoft Office software.
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours, as required.
EDUCATION:
- Minimum completion of some college-level courses in art.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged sitting in front of computer. Walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may carry up to 40 pounds of objects/material, not exposed to extreme noise level, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, taste or smell.
