USPS Delivery Driver / Mail Carrier - $144 Per Day - Searsport, ME
CROSS-STATE ROUTE SERVICES
Cross-State Route Services is currently seeking a dependable Mail Delivery Driver / Mail Carrier for a USPS Contract Delivery Service (CDS) route serving the Searsport, Maine area.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Must be at least 18 years of age Must possess a valid driver’s license Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds Must be able to safely work and drive in all weather conditions Must reside in or near Searsport, Belfast, Stockton Springs, Prospect, Bucksport, Frankfort, Swanville, Winterport, or surrounding areas Must have a qualifying vehicle meeting USPS route requirements Must maintain required vehicle insurance Must pass all USPS-required onboarding requirements, including required forms, background screening, and fingerprinting if required
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sort mail and packages into delivery sequence for active mailboxes Load mail and parcels in delivery sequence into a delivery vehicle Deliver mail and packages to customer boxes along an assigned line of travel Dismount if required to deliver parcels, Express Mail, and other accountable mail items Complete route documentation and other required administrative duties Follow USPS safety and contract requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Former USPS employees and contractors preferred Previous USPS, RCA, CCA, CDS, Amazon DSP, FedEx, UPS, DHL, or delivery experience preferred Strong attendance, reliability, and time management skills
ROUTE DETAILS
Route Location:Searsport, Maine
Route Start Date: July 1
Work Schedule:Monday through SaturdayFederal Holidays Off
Hours:7:30 AM – 1:30 PM(Approximately 6 Hours Per Day)
Daily Compensation:$144 Per Day
Position Type:1099 Independent Contractor
VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a qualifying vehicle meeting USPS route requirements Minivans, cargo vans, SUVs, and other approved vehicles may qualify Passenger-side delivery capability is strongly preferred Vehicles without a center console are preferred for easier mailbox delivery Current registration and insurance are required Specific vehicle requirements will be discussed during the interview process
The Independent Contractor is responsible for providing and maintaining their own vehicle, fuel, insurance, registration, maintenance, repairs, and operating expenses.
ONBOARDING REQUIREMENTS
